Policies

Student & Family Expectations

At JTPC, we’re committed to creating a positive, supportive, and empowering learning environment for every young performer. To help us maintain this standard, we ask all students and families to uphold the following expectations:

Respect & Kindness

Students are expected to treat coaches, peers, and studio spaces with respect. We celebrate individuality and inclusivity; kindness is the foundation of our community.

Commitment to Growth

We encourage students to arrive on time, come prepared, and give their best effort in every class, rehearsal, and performance. Progress happens through consistency, curiosity, and an open mindset.

Communication

Families play a key role in a student’s success. We ask parents and guardians to stay connected by reading their Session Overviews, checking emails, and communicating any absences, concerns, or changes directly with Jas.

Supportive Learning Environment

We foster a space where students feel safe to take risks, try new things, and make mistakes. Families are asked to support this by encouraging progress over perfection and reinforcing their coach’s guidance.

Professionalism & Studio Etiquette

Students should follow all class rules, use equipment responsibly, and maintain a positive attitude. Phones should remain off or away during sessions unless otherwise permitted.

Attendance & Punctuality

Regular attendance helps build confidence and ensures students don’t fall behind. If a student is unwell or unable to attend, families should notify JTPC as early as possible. Please note we have a 24-hour cancelation policy here at JTPC (refer to ‘Cancelation Policies’ for more information).

Safety & Wellbeing

We prioritise student wellbeing. Families must inform JTPC of any relevant medical, learning, or behavioural considerations so we can provide support to the best of our ability.

FAQ

Fees & Cancellation Policies

Fees are paid using a casual format via direct debit or cash meaning the student has approximately one week to pay for the recent session they participated in.

Students are asked to provide 24 hours notice should they be absent from their lesson; failure to meet this expectation will result in a cancelation fee which requires them to pay 50% of their lesson’s rate. For example: if a student cancels their $60.00 (hour-long) session 12 hours beforehand, they are required to pay a $30.00 cancellation fee.

If a lesson commences 10+ minutes beyond the lesson time and it is at fault of the student, they will be asked to pay a $5.00 late fee. This is the same for if a coach is responsible for commencing a lesson 10+ minutes beyond the lesson time - the student will be discounted $5.00. Lessons will be canceled after 15 minutes and standard cancelation policies will apply.

Are there additional fees throughout the year?

Aside from late fees and cancellation fees (see above), travel fees will occur for the relevant students.

Any student that requires our coach to travel beyond 10km from Headquarters in Greenvale VIC, will incur an additional $1.00 fee per km on top of their session's base rate.

For Example:
A student who wants an hour session and lives 35km from Headquarters will be required to pay a $35.00 travel fee, bringing their total to $95.00. This is because a one hour session's base rate is $60.00 + 35km x $1.00 = $95.00.

What if I wish to withdraw from classes?

We highly value transparency and honest communication in order to create a safe, supportive, and beneficial environment for our students and surrounding community. If you wish to withdraw from classes - though we do not expect you to disclose any personal information or any other information you do not want to provide - it is important you communicate any concerns you have that may have contributed to the withdrawal of your student.

However, to ensure fairness on the other students in the class and the hosting company, you must follow through with any performances you had previously committed to before withdrawing from classes including the compulsory classes leading up to it.

After you have completed your previously agreed-upon performance, you may withdraw from any classes by submitting a Notice of Withdrawal form - this can be requested by the student/parent/guardian and must be completed within two weeks of possessing the document.
